In addition, weddings and funerals can only be held on weekends while classes are in session.
Students
All sacraments are available to CSC students.

Marriage
-
The Archdiocese of St. Louis requires a minimum six-month preparation period prior to the wedding day. For those who qualify to be married at the CSC, we have two wedding coordinators who will guide the couple through the preparation process. The coordinators will also assist with the rehearsal and ceremony on your wedding day.
Couples for whom the CSC is their home parish but are getting married in another city may complete their marriage prep through the CSC with one of our wedding coordinators. -
Because Graham Chapel is a non-denominational church, Catholic weddings can be held there only under special conditions as directed by the Archdiocese. Couples who have a relationship to Washington University and/or are registered at the Catholic Student Center are permitted to have a Catholic wedding at Graham Chapel. Note that a Catholic wedding ceremony only (no Mass) is permitted. You must reserve Graham Chapel through the Washington University Event Management Department.
-
Couples who qualify to be married at the CSC must find their own presider. They are welcome to contact Fr. Brian, Deacon Phil, or Deacon Jim to see if they are available on the couple’s wedding date. With permission, couples may also bring their own presider to the CSC or Graham Chapel.
Baptism
-
Godparents play an extremely important role in the lives of their godchildren. They serve as models of faith and help bear the responsibility of helping children grow in their Christian vocations. As such, godparents must meet the following requirements before serving as Godparent:
At least one godparent must be a fully initiated Catholic having received the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and Holy Eucharist.
At least one godparent must attend Mass regularly on Sundays and Holy Days.
Godparents must be over the age of 16.
Godparents may not be the parent of the person being baptized.
Godparents must be living a life in harmony with the faith and the role to be undertaken.
Funerals
We at the Catholic Student Center express our condolences to you during this time of sorrow. We know the loss of a loved one can be profoundly difficult and there are many decisions to be made. Everyone at the CSC is here with love to support you.
Funerals at the Catholic Student Center are reserved for Catholic students and alumni of the university and registered members of our worshiping community. Funerals outside of these guidelines are subject to the approval of our Chaplain, Fr. Brian Fallon.
-
To begin preparing for a funeral, please contact Carol Jones at the CSC to secure a date, time and presider. 314-935-9191 X201 or jones@washucsc.org.
-
Funerals at the CSC are scheduled on Saturdays during the school year. Funerals may be scheduled on other days of the week when Washington University is not in session (summer and holiday breaks). The first available time for a funeral is 11 a.m.
-
Once the funeral date and time is confirmed, a meeting will be scheduled at the CSC with Fr. Brian. This planning meeting should be scheduled as soon as possible following confirmation of the funeral date and presider.
